Background: Yet another step is taken towards the Indo-Pak goodwill and friendship. The Pakistan Army Chief Gen. MUSSA arrives in New Delhi by air for the first time since the independence of the two countries. This is the first time that the army chief of Pakistan is visiting India. Gen. Thimayya had recently been to Pakistan. At the airport Gen. Mussa was received by Gen. Thimayya, C. in. C Indian Army. He inspected the Guard of Honour presented by a contingent of the Army and met some of the Indian commanders. Military Attache of the Nepalese Embassy was present to meet the visiting General. From the airport Gen. Mussa drove with Gen. Thimayya to meet the Indian Defence Minister Mr. Krishna Mennon. Mr. Mennon showed some interest in the various medals decorating the Pakistan Army chief, talked about his flight and sat down for a cup of coffee.
