    IN A SPEECH FROM THE THRONE MR.LUYT, THE ACTING GOVERNOR, TOLD THE HOUSE THAT MR.BUTLER, THE BRITISH MINISTER RESPONSIBLE FOR CENTRAL AFRICA, WAS TO VISIT LUSAKA FROM JANUARY 24-27.

    HOWEVER, IT WAS UNDERSTOOD THERE WAS A HITCH IN THE PLANS OF MR.KAUNDA'S UNITED NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE PARTY TO GET A MOTION THROUGH THE LEGISLATURE BEFORE MR.BUTLER'S ARRIVAL ASKING FOR THE SECESSION OF NORTHERN RHODESIA FROM THE CENTRAL AFRICAN FEDERATION.

    U.N.I.P.AND MR.HARRY NKUMBULA'S AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS DISAGREE ON THE WORDING OF THIS MOTION AND ANOTHER CALLING FOR FURTHER CONSTITUTIONAL CHANGES.MR.KAUNDA IS ALSO REPORTED TO BE HAVING DIFFICULTIES IN SECURING AGREEMENT FROM THE TOUR OFFICIAL MINISTERS.

    CHEERING AFRICANS BROKE THROUGH THE POLICE CORDON WHEN MR.KAUNDA AND MR.NKOMO, VISITING LEADER OF SOUTHERN RHODESIA'S AFRICAN PEOPLE'S UNION, LEFT PARLIAMENT BUILDING AFTER THE SESSION CLOSED.
