MEANWHILE IN RHODESIA ITSELF THE INDEPENDENCE CRISIS MARKS TIME PENDING THE ARRIVAL ON SUNDAY OF THE BRITISH PRIME MINISTER IN A BID TO BREAK THE DEADLOCK.

    ON THURSDAY EVENING, MR. SMITH WAS INTERVIEWED ABOUT THE CRISIS ON RHODESIAN TELEVISION. THE FOLLOWING EXTRACT DEALS WITH HIS VIEWS ON MR.
