Background: Silky Sullivan, a three year old American racehorse ran his usual hair-raising race in the Santa Anita Derby here today. For Silky likes to trail the field for most of the race - and at one stage today he was 29 lengths behind -to come surging through in the last furlong or so for an astonishing victory. Before this race, Silky adopted as the ties in twelve other meetings - and won seven of them. The crowd love it as the odd-horse-out lagged behind in the early stages with jockey, Willie Shoemaker - he's a champ, too - showing no concern at all. But at the last turn, this amazing horse really let himself go and weaved through the field with uncanny ease, to in by 3 lengths. 63,000 people watched this exciting race.
