    DOUALA, THE PORT OF THE CAMEROUN REPUBLIC IN WEST AFRICA, IS THE SETTING FOR A NEW TRAINING DEPARTMENT AT THE INSTITUTE FOR PANAFRICAN DEVELOPMENT. THE DEPARTMENT WAS OPENED ON SATURDAY BY THE CAMEROUN ECONOMIC MINISTER M. DANIEL MASUKE.

    THE INSTITUTE'S NEW WORK IS TO RUN A TWO-YEAR COURSE IN TRAINING OFFICIALS IN SUCH FIELDS AS RURAL PLANNING, ADULT EDUCATION AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT.

    INSTITUTE SPEAKERS THANKED THE CAMEROUN GOVERNMENT AND GOVERNMENTS IN EUROPE FOR HELPING THE INSTITUTE IN ITS THREE-YEARS EXISTENCE.

    M. MASUKE IN HIS SPEECH PAID TRIBUTE TO THE INSTITUTE, PARTICULARLY IN ITS WORK AGAINST HUNGER AND UNDER-DEVELOPMENT.
