The United Arab Emirate's (UAE) first Ambassador to Jordan, Doctor Faisal Al-Kasimi, arrived in Amman on Saturday (28 July) to set up the U.A.E. Embassy in Amman.
The United Arab Emirate states are an independent group formed in 1971. The Governor of the Union is Sheikh Zayed Ben Sultan Al-Hayyam, the ruler of Abu Dhabi state. As well as Abu Dhabi, the U.A.E. consists of the states of Dubai, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain, Ahman, Fujairah, and Ras Al-Khaimah.
Jordan has good relations with the United Arab Emirates State and diplomatic relations between the two countries will now be at Ambassador-level. Jordan has been assisting the U.A.E. State which has a shortage of teachers and engineers.
The first Ambassador, Dr. Faisal Al-Kasimi, is a physician, 32-year-old, and a member of the ruling family in Sharjah State. He was recently appointed to the U.A.E. Foreign Ministry and is taking up his first diplomatic post.
Dr. Al-Kasimi will submit his credentials to King Hussein of Jordan.
