    THE CEREMONIAL RIBBON TO THE SHOWROOM, WHICH BELONGS TO A DISTRIBUTOR OF UNITED STATES' AND JAPANESE CARS, WAS CUT BY MR. MAMADOU COULIBALY, PRESIDENT OF THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COUNCIL OF THE IVORY COAST.

    ONE OF THE JAPANESE VISITORS WAS MR. TOYODA, PRESIDENT OF THE TOYODA CAR COMPANY WHICH HAS STARTED TO EXPORT TO THE IVORY COAST. TOYOTA, THE SIXTH BIGGEST CAR COMPANY IN THE WORLD AND THE LARGEST IN JAPAN, HOPES TO SELL 300 CARS TO THE IVORY COAST IN 1970 AND EVENTUALLY EXPAND ITS SALES TO 2000 VEHICLES.

    THE 28-MEMBER TRADE MISSION LEFT FOR SENEGAL ON WEDNESDAY (FEB 25) AFTER A TWO-DAY STAY IN ABIDJAN. DURING THEIR VISIT THE MISSION DISCUSSED TRADE POSSIBILITIES WITH THE IVORY COAST PRESIDENT, FELIX HOUPHOUET-BOIGNY.
