DA???YER: "I've had a most enjoyable stay in Australia this year in ??? the fact that there were some demonstrators down in Sydney. ??? wa their choice. A lot of people have said, will I come back ??? I love Australia so much, and I sincerely man this ... and I'll come back every time I'm invited. And even those demonstrators I mentioned, in Sydney ... I don't even hate them at all. wonderful place for me in my career. It's enabled me to get a good step when I won the Ampol Tournament down in Melbourne and I'm very pro??? to have won the Australian Open seven times. Because, in my opinion, ??? than the four major Championships in the world, I don't know of a ???mant ... I don't want to say that this is the one I'd like to win meet ... but I certainly don't know of any other Championship that I'd like to ??? more, other than the four major Championships. So, I'm very proud. ??? you for your support ... for everybody who has helped make the T???ment a success... and congratulations to the leading amateur Chris ???ers. Background: S??? African Gary Player won his seventh Australian Open Golf championship on Sunday (3 November). A large and enthusiastic crowd wst??? Player hold off Scotsman Norman Wood by three shots at Lake Karrin??? Golf Club.

It was a thrilling finish as Player's hooking threatened to lose him the match. After two holes, both of which he birdied, Player had extended his lead ??? as many as eight strokes from five -- his margin over Wood at the start ??? the final round. Nine holes later this margin had been reduced to a sin??? stroke. But at the 12th and 13th holes Player slammed back with co???ive birdies and the margin, was once again extended to four strokes. Eventually Player finished with a total of 277, eleven under par, to Wood ???280.

Pl???r wa enthusiastically applauded by the crowd when he said that he ???ed Australia and would return whenever invited.
