  • Description

The two London clubs of Arsenal and Crystal Palace drew 1 - 1 in their League match at Highbury today (Saturday).

Arsenal put on the pressure to avenge their Cup defeat by Palace earlier in the week. Radford scored for Arsenal in the 16th minute after intercepting a loose ball and beating the goal minute after intercepting a loose ball and beating the goal keeper with a rising drive.

Arsenal's jubilation lasted only two minutes when Birchenall scored to bring Crystal Palace back into the game at 1 - 1.

Despite repeated Arsenal attacks Crystal Palace held on until half time and as the non-stop rain made the pitch increasingly slippery kept out Arsenal attacks until the end.

The draw meant that Arsenal are now third on the League Division one table with Crystal Palace lying seventh. Leeds United head the competition at this stage.
