"If the mountain won't go to Mohammed, Mohammed must got to the mountain". Children in?
"If the mountain won't go to Mohammed, Mohammed must got to the mountain". Children in many remote Sardinian rural districts can't get to school, so the school goes to them. VISNEWS filmed this travelling school-room recently as it made its found of calls, picking up the children.
The journey is about 12 miles over crude roads. When all the pupils have been collected the bus stops and lessons begin. If the weather is fine the teachers pitch tent; but during the rainy season the 20 or so pupils crowd into the bus.
There are two buses running about the island, bringing daily education to fifty or more children. The mobile school was the brain-child of Sassari professor, Dr. Cappai.
