    Background: Israeli authorities clamped a curfew on the old town of Nablus on the West Bank of the Jordan yesterday (May 15) because they feared violence during anti-Israeli demonstrations traditionally held on May 15. As in most ??? and villages shops and schools were shut, but by midday most shops were opened after troops toured the town telling shopkeepers by loudhailer that unless they opened voluntarily their shops would be forced open.
