    A Marine Corps Missile Battery, armed with Terrier, surface to air weapon, put on a firing demonstration for military officials, members of the press and the public at the new Naval Air Missile Test Center at Point Arguello near Santa Maria, California, recently.

    Of the two TERRIERS FIRED by the Battery, the first struck the F6F drone target plane at an altitude of 10,000 feet and destroyed it, while the second round was fired for effect.

    Point Arguello provides testing facilities for all types of missiles including LCBMs. An impact area, 500 miles long and 250 miles wide extends into the Pacific from, the testing center. The new facility is under the administrative control of the U.S. Naval Air Missile Test Center, Point Mugu. Rear Admiral J.P. Monroe is commanding Officer of Point Mugu.
