    MAKING HIS SECOND VISIT TO JAPAN IN THREE YEARS -- SOVIET FIRST DEPUTY PREMIER, MR. MIKOYAN, ARRIVED YESTERDAY (THURSDAY), WITH A 29-MEMBER SOVIET PARLIAMENTARY DELEGATION. THEY WILL BE IN JAPAN FOR TWO WEEKS.

    SOON AFTER THEIR ARRIVAL AT TOKYO'S HANEDA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, THE DELEGATION VISITED THE DIET (JAPANESE PARLIAMENT), WHERE THEY WERE WELCOMED BY THE CHAIRMAN OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, MR. FUNDA. LATER, MR. MIKOYAN WENT TO THE PRIME MINISTER'S OFFICIAL RESIDENCE, FOR HIS FIRST SESSION OF TALKS WITH PREMIER IKEDA.

    THE TALK LASTED ABOUT 50 MINUTES DURING WHICH THEY DISCUSSED TRADE BETWEEN THEIR TWO COUNTRIES AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AIR LINKS BETWEEN TOKYO AND MOSCOW. THEY ALSO TOUCHED ON THE IMPROVEMENT IN RELATIONS BETWEEN RUSSIA AND JAPAN, MR. KHRUSHCHEV'S PROPOSAL FOR A SOVIET-JAPANESE PEACE TREATY AND THE SOVIET PROPOSAL FOR BANNING UNDERGROUND NUCLEAR TESTS. THE TWO MINISTERS ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE MORE TALKS AT THE SOVIET EMBASSY ON MAY 25TH.
