Dien Bien Phu is rich in mineral resource and the land is fertile. The people have become masters of the land since the victory over French aggression. Dien Bien Phu is now an agricultural base of the Republic.
This is an area inhabited by the Thai and Miao national minorities. They, too, are leading a happy life under the leadership of President No Chi Minh.
But U.S. imperialism insist on imposing a war on the people of North Vietnam. The are forced to take up arms again, this time, in the struggle to resist U.S. aggression for national salvation.
11 years ago, the French Expeditionary force staked enormous military manpower and material hare but they could not escape the severe punishment by the Vietnamese people. French tasks and cannons destroyed by the people's forces then can still be seen in the fields.
Today, one also sees the wreckage of many U.S. planes. The people's army and civilians of ten hold combat exercises here. A fate the same as their French predecessors awaits the U.S. imperialist aggressors should they dare to attack.
