THE WOMEN'S 100 METRES WAS WON AS EXPECTED BY THE BRILLIANT POLISH GIRL, MISS KLOBUKOWSKA, WHO HAS ALREADY BEATEN THE WORLD TIME FOR THE EVENT THIS SEASON.

THE POLISH SPRINTERS COMPLETED THE 'DOUBLE' WHEN THEY REPEATED THEIR 100 METRES SUCCESS IN THE 200 METRES EVENT. THE RACE WAS WON BY DUDZIAK.

THERE WAS TREMENDOUS EXCITEMENT FOR THE SPECTATORS DURING THE 1500 METRES RACE. IT WAS EVENTUALLY WON BY ALAN SIMPSON (BRITAIN) FROM HIS OLD RIVAL WITOLD BARAN IN 3 MINS 43.1 SECONDS.

BRITAIN'S OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALLIST LONG-JUMPER LYNN DAVIES CLEARED 25 FT. 7 1/4 INS. (7.80 METRES) TO WIN THE EVENT. SCHMIDT AND STALMACH COULD NOT APPROACH THIS DISTANCE.

RECORDING A PERSONNEL BEST TIME IN THE 10,000 METRES, POLAND'S EDWARD STAWIARZ WON THE RACE WHICH THE BRITISH TEAM CONFIDENTLY EXPECTED WOULD GO TO THE WORLD RECORD HOLDER, RON HILL. IN THE EVENT, HILL WAS HALF A LAP BEHIND THE WINNER WHO CLOCKED 29 MINUTES 5.6 SECONDS.
