Background: Italian couture designer Roberto Capucci unveiled his new Spring and Summer collection at a Rome fashion show on Wednesday (19 January) On display were both day wear and evening gowns. With off-beat a key, Capucci featured an evening gown made of hopsacking and chiffon -- worn with a rope belt with braiding made out of painted pebbles. Colours in all designs were rich and contrasting.
But four days of Italian and summer couturier collections bear out what previous ready-to-wear showings in Florence and Paris had suggested -- that the latest fashion "revolution" is really a return to the safe and sound.
