    The Mekong River town of Pra Passap, 16 miles ( 26 kilometres) north-east of the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh, has been severely damaged during Cambodian army action against Viet Cong guerrillas. Film of the aftermath of the fighting, which took place on Thursday ( November the 19th), has just been received.

    Altogether six Cambodian battalions are scattered around the area in a wide-spread search for Viet Cong infiltrators. Pra Passap suffered badly in the fighting, and the town was almost completely destroyed. Government troops moved in to search through wreckage after air strikes had almost razed the town to the ground.

    Scattered fighting around the town continued while thy searched for guerrillas, and the small civilian population fled with their belongings in the face of the troops.
