Background: The world's largest solar energy plant will be in Atlanta, U.S.A., within the next few weeks to heat and cool a state school. Most final preparations to the experimental school building were completed on Sunday (3 August) and the vital pipes and foundations for energy collectors have been installed.
Officials say the remaining alternations to the building will be completed by September, when the school will be heated by the sun on cold days and cooled by solar energy on hot days.
It's all done through six hundred solar collectors that will be built on the roof of the building.
The school project is the first of its type, but it will not be the last.
The United States Government has authorised 60 million dollars to be spent on demonstration projects over the next five years.
