Lord Provost James A. Smart.
In humble duty in the name of the citizens of Perth and by the authority of the Town Council I tender you Sir the Freedom of the city and Royal borough of Perth.
TOWN CLERK OF PERTH.
I do solemnly and sincerely promise and declare that I will faithfully demean myself as a Burgess and Freeman of the city and the Royal Borough of Perth.
SV Sir Anthony Eden.
Sir to be enrolled as a Burgess of this Royal and ancient borough of Perth is a high honour particularly as you have appropriately reminded me for one born across the boarder though as you have said My Lord Provost so far across it that my ancestors couldn't have been immune from Scottish interests. To the Citizens of Perth all prosperity and I think you once more from my heart for the great honour you have done in making me your youngest Burgess.
