Background: Great Britain pushed their way into next week's Rugby-League World Championship final by beating the New Zealand "Kiwis" 27-17 at Swinton on Saturday (31 October).
The New Zealanders surprised the crowd by opening the scoring and containing the favoured home side well in the first half. After half-time however, the Great Britain team forged ahead from their 15-10 lead and continually pressed into New Zealand territory.
Dutton increased the score with a penalty, after an infringement inside the New Zealand 25.
After Haynes had attacked deep towards the goalline, Watson burst over to bring the score to 22-10.
Another Great Britain movement was set up by Thompson and finished by Atkinson. Dutton converted.
With ten minutes left for play Ladner added to the "Kiwis" score with a penalty, and shortly afterwards team-mate Smith scored from a goal-line tussle. Ladner converted, to make the final score Great Britain 27, New Zealand 17.
