    In Rhodesia, troops and police are hunting for an armed black Nationalist guerrilla whom they believe is under orders to assassinate black leaders in the country's transitional coalition government. The man, reportedly armed with a Soviet-made automatic rifle, is said to be one of sixteen guerrillas despatched to the Salisbury area by the Zimbabwe People's Revolutionary Army (ZIPRA). A police spokesman has reported that five of the guerrillas have been killed and two captured. Only one still at large is considered dangerous.

    SYNOPSIS: This house, in the black township of Highfield on the outskirts of Salisbury, was occupied by some of the guerrillas until a shootout with police on Tuesday (August 22). One guerrilla died while trying to escape. The previous day, police had shot dead another of the gang after he was seen with a hand grenade at a shopping centre in the town. Then, on Wednesday (August 24), a guerrilla shot his way past roadblocks, killing two black civilians and wounding six other people, including three police officers. This fugitive is the man now being hunted by the security forces.
