    South Vietnamese Foreign Minister, Madame Nguyen Thi Binh, has been assured that India will do what she can to help rebuild South Vietnam.

    Madame Binh was making her first visit to India in six years. During her stay she met Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed and External Affairs Minister Yeshwantrad Chavan.

    The South Vietnamese Foreign Minister and Mrs. Gandhi held detailed discussions on the non-aligned nations conference to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka in August. Afterwards it was revealed that a single delegation representing a unified Vietnam would participate in the conference.

    Madame Binh said the firs session of the United National Assembly of Vietnam will be held in a month's time. The assembly will nominate a government and work out a new constitution for the whole of Vietnam.

    Indian External Affairs Minister, Mr. Y. Chavan told Madame Binh his country would be prepared to help in the tasks of the economic reconstruction of Vietnam.

    "We would consider it great honour, and within the limits of our capabilities, will be privileged to participate in the reconstruction of your country," Mr. Chavan said.
