Background: On September 8 Todor Shivkov, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Bulgarian communist party and Prime Minister and Dimitr Ganev, President of the Presidium of the National Assembly accepted the Soviet heroes-cosmonauts Valentina Tereshkova and Valeril Bikovaki, Boyan Balgaranov, Boris Balchev, Kitke Girgorov, Ivan Mihnilov, Encho Staykav, Stanko Todorov, Dimitr Dimov, Georgi Traykov, Hacho Papasov, members of the Central Committee of the Bulgarian communist party, of the Presidium of the National Assembly, of the Mr Council of ministers and public figures were present.The Ambassador Extraordinary of the USSR in Sofia Nicolay Organov, general-lieutenant Hicclay Kamunia and Mrs.Bikovaka were also there.

Mincho Minchev, secretary of the Presidium of the National Assembly, read the Decrees for rewarding of Valentina Toreshkova and Valeril Bikovaki with the title "Hero of the Socialist labour of the People's republic of Bulgaria' and of their decorating with the order "Georgi Dimitrov".

Valentina Tereshkova thanked cordially on behalf of the both cosmonauts.
