Background: Indonesian President Soekarno, who arrived in Cuba, May 9, for a five-day visit, saw a militia parade and visited a government co-operative farm in Eastern Cuba, May 11.
The militia - including rifle-carrying girls - marched to the villa where President Soekarno is staying; part of their ceremony was a song in praise of Agrarian Reform - appropriate, because shortly after, Soekarno with Cuban Premier Fidel Castro and Agrarian Reform Institute head Nunez Jimenez went on to see the co-operative farm.
After inspecting farm stock, President Soekarno listened to more singing - this time by a girl soloist - exchanged handkerchiefs with another young lady, and danced an impromptu dance with a third. Senor Jimenez joined in the festivities, but Dr.Castro declined.
President Soekarno left Indonesia Apr 1 for a 12-nation tour; he has already visited Asian, African and European countries; as a result of his stay in Cuba, Premier Castro and Cuban President Dorticos have accepted an invitation to visit Indonesia.
