  • Description

Officials in Washington have predicted President Carter of the United States will tell Egyptian President Anwar Sadat that he will not pressure Israel into making concessions in the Middle East peace talks. The two leaders began talks on Friday (3 February) at Camp David, the isolated presidential retreat in Maryland, and the Washington officials believed Mr. Carter would advise Mr. Sadat that there should be a pause before new efforts were made to revive Egypt's faltering negotiations with Israel.

SYNOPSIS: Although talks between the two leaders were to be held out of the limelight at Camp David, many officials and newsmen greeted them at the White House.
