    THE VICE-PRESIDENT OF ZAMBIA, MR REUBEN KAMANGA, RECENTLY MADE AN INSPECTION OF IMPROVEMENTS BEING CARRIED OUT TO THE INDEPENDENCE STADIUM IN LUSAKA. THE IMPROVEMENTS SHOULD BE COMPLETED IN TIME FOR THIS YEAR'S INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATIONS.

    MR PETER MATOKA, THE MINISTER OF WORKS, ACCOMPANIED THE VICE-PRESIDENT ON THE TOUR OF INSPECTION. MR KAMANGA WAS SHOWN THE PLANS WHICH WILL TRANSFORM THE SITE INTO A STADIUM FOR ALL MAJOR SPORTING ACTIVITIES. WORK HAS ALREADY STARTED ON THE IMPROVEMENTS.
