Background: Information received from sputniks is of great importance in making weather-forecasts in the Gidromettsents of the USSR.
Every one of the 3 space weather forecasters of the "Meteor-system" is having communication session with Earth 15 times a day.
They transfer TV images of the cloud cover. Its temperature and the same of the Earth surface. Intensity of solar radiation. Quantity of energy or electromagnetic waves etc.
"Sputnik vertical" - such is the name of the department for processing the data received from the sputniks.
Here they are putting into snaps the maps on which the orbits on the space automatic sputniks. Photos of clouds at daytime and night time have been traced and the study of sudden typhoons.
Much work on processing the data is done by computers.
The amount of information received from the sputniks is 100 times as much as that obtained from meteorological stations of the whole world.
The computers which work as per special programme process this information in two hours.
Engineers - deciphers by analysing the pictures from sputniks make schematic maps of distribution of cloudiness. The these maps are transferred to various areas of the Soviet. Union and the world, total to 1300 points.....
