    Harold Wilson, British Opposition Labour Party leader met President Johnson in Washington yesterday (Monday) for what he called a 'very enjoyable and frank talk'. His call at the White House ended three days of talks during which he was briefed on United States policies, and for his part had explained policies he would follow if elected British Prime Minister this year.

    After the 50-minute talk, Mr. Wilson told reporters: "The Western Alliance is in good hands as far as the United States is concerned." He said that one of the things that concerned him in Washington was the problem of making the Western Alliance - and especially NATO - more effective, in views of the critical strain that undergoing.

    Today, (Tuesday) Mr. Wilson travels to Connecticut to receive an Honorary Degree at the University of Bridgeport.
