    Background: The sole place in Germany where there are living wild horses in Freedom is one district in the woods and camps of the Duke of CROY in Merfeld near Munster Westfalia. This animals are living there in freedom since 1390. They are named "Merfelder Rasse" Breed of Merfeld. Every year in the month of May the one year old horses will be caught and than domesticated for sale. This year were caught 27 animals out of a herd of 200 horses. This bred is qualified to make easy work. To held the blood fresh the Duke buys every year several small horses of a pony-breed from the British Island. Every year there are coming more than 30 000 visitors to see this spectacle.
