  • Description

A Cleveland man will attempt to break the world record for a west-to-east, solo crossing of the Atlantic. England's Sir Francis Chichester holds the record of 28-days and seven hours.
44-year-old Miroslav Bone (BO-NAY) a Yugoslavian immigrant and World War II guerrilla fighter feels he can slice 24 hours off the Englishman's record. He will sail his 38-foot sloop "Temptress" across Lake Erie and take the Erie Canal route to New York. Bone hopes to begin his voyage across the Atlantic within two weeks. NBC Newsman Ron Becker asked if he is worried about the crossing.

TRANSCRIPT: "..that can do it." (OUT CUE)

BONE: "Uh, no, I'm not particularly worried about it."

    REPORTER: Ron Becker
ED NOTE: I left the "Uh" in the sound piece because I think the way he says it tells a lot about his feelings.
