Dr. Hector Campora assumed a new role on Thursday (20 December). The former President of argentina became his country's Ambassador to Mexico. During a brief morning ceremony at the National Palace in Mexico City, Dr. Campora presented his credentials to President Luis Echeverria.
After only seven weeks in the nation's highest office, Dr. Campora resigned as President of Argentina in July to clear the way for the election of General Juan Peron who returned to run for the Presidency after 17 years in exile.
There were rumours early in August that General Peron had offered his predecessor a diplomatic post. At that time it was thought it might have been the Ambassadorship to Peru.
