    THE HEADDRESS WAS MADE BY A PARIS JEWELLER AND MISS TAYLOR'S HAIRDRESSER. ITS GLITTERING BASE WAS MOUNTED BY A CROWN ENCRUSTED WITH DIAMONDS, AND SET WITH A JEWELLED FLOWER WITH PETALS OF NINE-CARAT PEAR-SHAPED DIAMONDS.

    SCORES OF UNIFORMED AND PLAINCLOTHES POLICEMEN SURROUNDED THE OPERA HOUSE, AND MINGLED WITH SPECTATORS AND GUESTS.

    THE PREMIERE WAS ATTENDED BY A NUMBER OF FRENCH FILM STARS AND ACTORS. THE FILM STARS RICHARD BURTON AND ELIZABETH TAYLOR.

    THE HEAD PIECE WAS ORIGINALLY MADE FOR MISS TAYLOR'S APPEARANCE IN THE TAMING OF THE SHREW.
