    RABBI RINGER STATEMENTS

Q: Rabbi Ringer, you saw Adolf Richmann three times. Can you tell me about each of these - where it took place, when it took place and just what happened?

A: The first time I saw Richmann was in Prague, the second time in Pressburg, in Pressburg, the third time in Auschwitz, in Auschwitz.

Q: Rabbi, can you tell me in some detail what happened in Prague, in Pressburg and in Auschwitz?

A: The first time in Prague he made a big speech with thousands of thousands of people, to exterminate the Jews of all Europe.

Q: And the second time in Pressburg?

A: The second time in Pressburg he brought together all the Jews in a synagogue and he killed them off, he shot them.

    Q: And in Auschwitz?

A: In Auschwitz the first time he came and hunted down all the people; he brought them together and killed them and some worked in the camps.

Q: You were a prisoner in Auschwitz, weren't you?

    A: Yes.

Q: What happened in detail in Auschwitz this day that you remember so well?

A: I was in the line; they took me to Eichmann's office and as soon as I came in, I didn't know I was in Eichmann's office - I saw three boys. I became frightened and I turned as white as the wall. I restrained myself with all my might - they twisted my arms and they held me and he shouted: You Jew. Then he took one boy and burned his hand with a cigarette and as he burned his hand with a cigarette, the boy turned blue and as he turned blue, he dropped and he was dead. Now they brought a nine year old child and he burned him and he pushed the cigarette into his eye - "now you will see something else," he shouted. They brought a six months old child. He told the SS man to hold the child, he refused, and they sent him to the next room. Then he shot the child of six months. To me he shouted: "You dog. They will make soap of the flesh and the bones will be thrown to the dogs." The he cut up the child for soap and the bones to the dogs. Then he said, "now is your turn". I thought, either I live or dies and he struck me with the revolver on the head. I dropped immediately, covered with blood. They took me away and I don't know what happened to me. They put me on a truck all bleeding. They took me away. I don't know what happened.

Q: Did he think you were dead?

A: Yes, he had thought he had killed me. He said I was dead because of the blow with the revolver.
