Each member stepped forward .. signed the Oath ... handshake and countersigning from President Gronchi and took office. They afterward posed in a group for the multitude of Press.
The cabinet is drawn entirely from the Christian Democrat Party. Members include Signor Pella, 57, former Prime Minister now Foreign Minister; Signor Andreotti, 40, Minister for Defence; Signor Tambroni, Budget and Treasury Minister. All these Ministers held Cabinet rank in the former Fanfani government. Signor Segni has had offers of support from the Liberals and from the two parties. Arrangements should result on paper in a majority in the Chamber of 338 votes for the Government against 257 of the combined opposition ??? votes in ??? votes in the senate.
Feb 23 Signor Segni is expected to outline his Government's programme and ask for a vote of confidence.
