    THE BRITISH PRIME MINISTER, MR HAROLD WILSON, TODAY ENDED HIS BRIEF VISIT TO MOSCOW, WHERE HE VISITED A BRITISH TRADE FAIR AND HAD TALKS WITH MR KOSYGIN ON THE VIETNAM CONFLICT.

    MR WILSON HAD OFFICIALLY GONE TO MOSCOW TO BOOST MORALE AT THE TRADE FAIR, WHERE VITAL EXPORT ORDERS ARE BEING WON FROM THE SOVIET UNION. HE VISITED THE FAIR WITH MR KOSYGIN, AND THEN YESTERDAY (MONDAY) GOT DOWN TO THE BUSINESS OF LENGTHY TALKS THAT DEALT MAINLY WITH THE CONFLICT IN VIETNAM.

    WHEN HE RETURNED TO LONDON MR WILSON SAID THAT NEITHER SIDE HAD CHANGED ITS ATTITUDE ON VIETNAM, BUT HE FELT THE TALKS HAD BEEN USEFUL IN CLARIFYING THE DIFFERENT POSITIONS.

    BACK IN LONDON, THE PRIME MINISTER DROVE FROM LONDON AIRPORT TO REPORT TO THE HOUSE OF COMMONS ON HIS MOSCOW JOURNEY, AND TO PREPARE THE STATEMENT HE WILL MAKE TOMORROW (WEDNESDAY) ON THE GOVERNMENT'S PLANS FOR FIGHTING THE SERIOUS ECONOMIC CRISIS. MINISTERS AND SENIOR OFFICIALS HAVE RUSHED THROUGH PLANS FOR THE CABINET TO SELECT THE MEASURES NEEDED TO SAVE THE POUND STERLING FROM DEVALUATION.
