SARTAWI: "We certainly shall try to prevent any such settlement - any peaceful settlement would be at the expense of our people. We shall not stop fighting short of the complete liberation of Palestine, and that objective can never be guaranteed by peaceful settlement of any sort whatsoever".

Background: Palestinian commandoes will continue fighting until they complete the liberation of Palestine, according to Dr. Isam Sartawi, heart surgeon turned guerilla leader. Dr. Sartawi was being interviewed in Jordan yesterday (Sunday) immediately prior to tonight's reports of heavy fighting between Arab commandoes an Israeli forces in the Jordan Valley.
Dr. Sartawi is Commander-in-Chief of the Action Organisation for the Liberation of Palestine, which claimed responsibility for the attempted hijack of an Israeli airliner at Munich airport last week.
