Background: Mr. Kruschev took time out from the 15th General Assembly of the United Nations October 7 to attend a luncheon given for him by UNCA (the United Nations Correspondents Association). At the conclusion of his speech, which was immediately translated by his personal interpreter who has come with him from Moscow, Mr. Kruschev after delineating the constitution of the three separate blocks he would like to see established in United Nations, said the following...
"We do not ask for any privileges for ourselves; we merely are asking for our share, for what we have the right to have. If you want to subordinate us without giving us the right to have these equal conditions, this will merely mean that we will uphold our interests outside this international body, outside the United Nations by means of force and this can lead to nothing else but a new exacerbation of the situation."
