    Ottawa was in a holiday mood on Monday and the Queen and Prince Philip appeared to be more relaxed.

    Silent film shows activity around the war memorial prior to the arrival of the Queen for her first official function of the day. Temperature was in the mid thirties. However, thousands turned out to welcome the Royal Couple. It was a big change from the reception the Queen received in Quebec City.

    Sof--Queen arrives--National Anthem, general activity around the cenotaph or national war memorial. Queen and Prince Philip lay wreath and then talk to a number of veterans from both World Wars.

    Monday a national holiday in Canada---Thanksgiving Day.
