COMMENTATOR: "Audrey Robb is a teletype operator at the Westinghouse plant in Hamilton. She and her husband separated recently, and her hundred-and-thirty-three dollar a week job and her three children were the most important things in her life. Last might, the lucky draw changed all that. Mrs. Robb went of for a normal working day and the "phone started to ring. By noon, she had had enough and decided to escape. She talked about the big win before leaving and declared that she won't spend the million."



MRS. ROBB: "Why should I spend it. I can just spend the interest and still have a million dollars."



QUESTION: "How much interest do you get?"



MRS. ROBB: "A hundred-thousand a year."



QUESTION: "Now are you going to spend that?"



MRS. ROBB: "I don't know, but I tell you, I'm going to enjoy it."



QUESTION: "Have you ever thought of any fanciful dream that you might be able to finance now?



MRS. ROBB: "No, not really."



QUESTION: "No trips, no major purchases?"



MRS. ROBB: "No, I was going to Europe in May with my mother and my daughter, anyway, so that's the one. Maybe I'll go a little classier this time."

Background: A mother of three from Hamilton, Ontario, who recently separated from her husband, found herself Canada's newest dollar millionaire this week when she won first prize in the Canadian Olympic Lottery.

Until recently, most forms of gambling were forbidden in Canada. Now the lottery is raking in huge sums top help finance the 1976 Olympics in Montreal. Eight of the lotteries are planned and the final profit for the Olympic Organising Committee is expected to be about 100 million dollars towards the 310 million dollar cost of the games.

When the draw was made on Tuesday (19 November), the winner was Mrs. Audrey Robb from Hamilton. She started as if she didn't intend life as a millionaire to change anything -- by going into work the following morning.
