    The Mukti Bahini -- the guerilla fighting force of the Bangla Desh Movement -- now claims to control large pockets of territory inside East Pakistan.

    Visnews cameraman, Pram Prakash recently visited the East Pakistan township of Rowmari, about four miles from the India - East Pakistan border, which has now become a major staging-point and training area for the Mukti Bahini forces.

    This film illustrates various aspects of life in the town and the training procedures for the Mukti Bahini forces.

    SYNOPSIS: The flag of Bangla Desh flies over a number of areas in East Pakistan. One of these areas is the area around the township of Rowmari on a tributary of the great Brahmaputra River, about four miles inside East Pakistan from the Indian border.

    Rowmari was originally a sleepy border town, but today is full of activity as shown in this film report from Visnews cameraman, Prem Prakash.

    The townspeople carry on their life as the region resounds to the gunfire of the Mukti Bahini forces supporting Sheikh Bahini forces supporting Sheikh Mujib Rahman go through their training paces. The Mukti Bahini forces claim to have captured some pakistan army prisoners.

    The raw recruits are put through the initial training exercises at the town's Police Station.

    According to unofficial reports this is only one of many Mukti Bahini enclaves throughout East Pakistan. They continues their training programme as Pakistani and Indian Government leaders work to avoid an all-out war between the two countries.
