Background: The month of May has been full of significant events in the Yugoslav Parliament. The newly elected deputies to the Federal National Assembly met for the first time and elected the President of the Assembly - it is Milentije Popovic, outstanding Yugoslav politician.
The deputies also elected the President and the members of the Federal Executive Council (Government). Mika Spiljak (Shpiliak) is the new Yugoslav Prime-minister.
The topical event was the election of the President of the Republic. Tito was elected President of the Federal Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia for the fifth time in succession. President Tito the made his oath (SOF). Masses of deputies and people in front of the Parliament building cheered the President.
