The Ivory Coast Minister of Tourism, M. Blaise N'dia Koffi, was presented with the highest international tourism award, the Gold Star of the International Tourism Federation (FIT) in Abidjan on Wednesday (30 October).
The presentation ceremony took place at the Hotel Tiama before an audience of Ivory Coast and foreign dignitaries, including the President of FIT, M. Claude Durand de Freyssinet and the French Ambassador to the Ivory Coast, M. Jacquss Raphael.
The presentation was made by M. Paul Emile Victor, Director General of French Polar Expeditions.
The following day, M. N'dia Koffi opened the annual meeting of the Society for Promoting Tourism, an organisation promoting tourism in the Ivory Coast, Dahomey, Upper Volta, Niger and Togo.
