    Although Cambodia became khmer Republic last October, a Royal funeral in Phnom Penh on Friday was accorded all the ritual and ceremony of pre-Republican days.

    The Executive Prime Minister Lieutenant-General Sisowath Sirik Matak himself attended, and so did Prince Monivong Monoreth, who was in direct line of succession to the throne until passed over by the French in 1941 in favour of Prince Norodom Sihanouk.

    The name of the deceased was Norodom Chantelekha (pronounced Chan-Tell-Ekha), and he was known as His Royal Highness Princes To. His son is the leader of the 13th. Brigade in the army, Lt-Colonel Norodom Chantarangsay. The 13th. has a high reputation for efficiency, and is reported to be equipped largely from the Chantarangsay wealth.
