REPORTER: It's the largest professional sports crowd in Canadian history. Runner-up is Toronto with the (indistinct) packed in 50,000 last month. But maybe it wasn't the game as much as the stadium that brought in all the business. Are you going to watch the game or the Olympic stadium?"

REPORTER: "For those that haven't been to the Olympic stadium before, there was the unexpected pleasure of Olympic replays on two big boards. Just like at home, except that they're the biggest in the world. The Alouettes' kicker kept the hometown players happy kicking three field goals and setting a world record of 18 in a row without a miss."

Background: It is nearly two months since the Olympics finished in Montreal, Canada but the Games are still very much on the minds of the city's authorities. Montreal ran up a huge debt in putting on the Olympics, with many of the stadia and sports sties still to be completed or re-adapted. One such is the stadium that held the athletic events during the recent Games. The original turf has been torn up and an artificial grass laid. On Sunday (26 September) the stadium was used for a North American rules football match -- its first use for non-Olympic event. Here's the story from Canadian reporter Fred Langon on the match between the Ottawa Roughriders and the Montreal Alouettes.
