Dave Bedford, Britain's 'Golden Boy' of the running track, compensated for his disappointment at missing the Olympic Gold in Munich last year by setting a new World 10,000 metres record in London on Friday (July 13)
Competing in the British Championships, 23-year-old Bedford slashed more than seven seconds off the previous world record, set at 27 minutes 38.4 seconds by Lasse Viren of Finland when winning the Olympics 10,000 metre title in Munich.
