TRANSCRIPT: TRANSLATOR: "The emergency summit conference, which was convened in Tripoli, contained many points. And the points that were declared in the communique contained the steps. In addition to that, there were secret resolutions taken by the summit conference, which will be carried out in due course. The implementation of these steps depends on developments taking place in the Jordanian government. These are matters general and specific."

Background: Libya's leader, Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, said at a press conference in Tripoli on Sunday (1 August), that the recent five-nation Arab summit conference on the Palestine guerrilla crisis in Jordan adopted secret resolutions. Asked whether military intervention was one of the secret resolutions, Colonel Gaddafi replied: "This is a naive question."
The summit conference backed the Cairo and Amman agreements between the guerrillas and the Jordanian authorities, which ended a 10-day civil war in Jordan last September. Although the communique, issued after the conference, condemned Jordan for its actions against the guerrillas, some have said that the communique was "toothless."
At the press conference, Colonel Gaddafi said the meeting had achieved all that the Palestine Resistance Movement wanted. He said that military intervention in Jordan way very much on his mind, when he invited the Arab leaders to Tripoli for the summit conference.
