President Felix Houphouet-Boighy of the Ivory Coast yesterday (Tuesday) received the credentials of the new Ghanians ambassador to his country. The new Ambassador is Dr. Claude Ennin.
Presenting his credentials, Dr. Ennin told President Houphouet-Boigny he had been chosen to consolidate the friendly relations and brotherly ties which exist between the two countries.
Dr. Ennin quoted the Ghanian Prime Minister, Dr. K.A., Busia, who visited the Ivory Coast in May, this year, when he told the President the only natural and rational course open to the two countries was to "journey hand in hand along the road of life in search of progress and prosperity and freedom, in co-operation, friendship and mutual sympathy."
In reply, President Houphouet-Boigny said Ghana and the Ivory Coast were not only friends, but very close friends. The two countries, he said, were not only neighbours but had a parallel history and were dealing with similar problems in their development.
