Background: Toys, fifty-thousand of them. They were all on display at the Slough Community Centre, Buckinghamshire, yesterday. Our girl in toyland, Valerie Dennis.
"This fair is the brainchild of a local business man, Mr. Ivor Davies. It's an attempt to take the backache out of Christmas shopping by bringing together in our place toys from all over the world so that harassed mums in Berkshire, Bucks and Middlesex can simply order what they want, pay a small deposit and clear the account when the toys are delivered.
No traffic jams with this car. Battery operated, it runs continuously on a plastic strip. But if you're really in a hurry you can always 'hop-on-a-bike'. Some of the younger ones, of course, couldn't wait until Christmas.......
"During the Fair I spoke to the man behind it all.
Either way, with toys like these to choose from it promises to be a bumper Christmas.....
