  • Description

OJUKWU IN HOSPITAL, MEETING PATIENTS; AT PRESS CONFERENCE -- SOUND ON FILM.

TRANSCRIPT: OJUKWU: "LANDING TROOPS IN THE DELTA CREEK AREAS IS ONE THING -- USING THEM WITH EFFECT IS VASTLY DIFFERENT. IT IS CLEAR TO ME THAT WHAT MY GOOD FRIEND. TAMBANDIT GOWON IS PLANNING THERE IS CLEARLY TO GET A GROUP OF MEN ROUND THE OIL TERMINAL AND THEN TO SHAKE THE MANAGERS OF THE OIL COMPANIES BY THE SCRUFF OF THE NECK AND DEMAND MONEY -- THAT'S ALL. HE KNOWS WELL THAT THE TROOPS IN THAT AREA CAN BE OF NO USE. THERE IS A DANGER OF THIS, THOUGH: THAT IN HIS LUNACY HE MIGHT IN FACT DECIDE TO TURN VERY NASTY AND DESTROY THE TERMINAL INSTALLATIONS."
