    Background: Candidates Vice-President Richard Nixon and Senator John Kennedy, entered the last week of the United States Presidential campaign, Nov 1, miles apart. Democratic candidate Kennedy arrival for a short tour of California, while his Republican opponent campaigned in Pennsylvania.

    Senator Kennedy, who is shown by public polls to be leading the race for the White House - had a good reception on his arrival in California, which is Richard Nixon's home state. Repeating his main theme of "A new approach to the sixties" Senator Kennedy said:
    In Lancaster, Pennsylvania, which with California is one of the key states in the elections, Vice-President Nixon told his audience:
    For Senator Kennedy a huge eve of election rally has been planned in Boston, Nov 7, where he will address voters from his own state. Vice-President Nixon staged his biggest show, Nov 2, when he drove through the streets of New York with President Eisenhower. The President will campaign for the candidate in New York state where the Democrats outnumber the Republicans.
